Open & Closed Stomatal Pore diagram for Class 10, CBSE Biology.

This diagram is from my Biology notebook.

The opening and closing of stomata are controlled by the guard cells. When water flows into the guard cells, they swell up. Curved surface causes the stomata to open.

When water is lost from the guard cells, they shrink and become straight, thereby closing the stomata.
