What is Artificial Kidney \/ Hemodialysis?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\"><strong>Ans<\/strong>: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">Kidneys are vital organs for survival.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">Infections, injury and restricted blood low may cause the poisonous wastes to get accumulated in the kidney. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">This can lead to death.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">In case of kidney failure, an artificial kidney can be used.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">An artificial kidney is a device to remove nitrogenous products of blood through dialysis.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">Artificial kidneys contain different tubes with semi permeable lining, suspended in a tank of dialysing fluid.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">This dialysing fluid consists of the same osmotic pressure as that of blood, but is devoid of nitrogenous wastes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">The patients blood is passed through these tubes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">During this passage, waste products of blood pass into dialysing fluid by diffusion.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">The purified blood is sent back to the patient\u2019s body.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">4. How do plants get rid of their wastes?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\"><strong>Ans<\/strong>: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">Oxygen itself is a waste in plants<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">Plants get rid of excess water by transpiration<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">Plants wastes are stored in cellular vacuoles in some leaves, they may fall off later.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">Other waste products are in resins and gums<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">They may be shedded to soil too.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">5.
