I would like to share my writing about ‘How I learnt a new skill during vacation’. I wrote it for my English composition for class X, CBSE.
” When I was about 14 years old, during my summer vacation with my Grand Parents, my Grandma offered to teach me stitching. I was so enthusiastic about learning the new skill and got ready for it. We started right away.
I was introduced to the basics of stitching – how to operate the machine, place the cloth correctly and threading the strand of thread. At first, it all seemed so easy and a piece of cake to me. But gradually, I found it irritating as I never got the thread correctly on the holder and it kept pulling itself back.
Many times, I stitched a cloth for about 10 minutes, only to find no stitching on the cloth. 🙁 I was so disappointed. I tried again, following the methods of stitching and little tips and tricks given by my grandmother. Gradually, I improved without much blunders. I stitched a cover for my new lenova tablet, and it came out way better than I had expected. I was so happy that day!! I Learnt a new skill !! 🙂 🙂
