Hayagrīva Swamy is a Hindu deity widely worshipped in India, particularly in Tamil Nadu. Considered to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Hayagriva is typically depicted with a horse’s head and a human body, and is considered to be the god of knowledge, wisdom, and education. He is often worshipped by students and scholars as a deity who can grant them knowledge and intelligence. Many also worship Him as a remover of obstacles and as a protector of the Vedas. He is often worshipped along with His consort, Goddess Lakshmi, together Lakshmi-Hayagrīva.
