(Finally) the last one in my Navaratri 2022 Painting Series: Devi Saraswati!
Saraswati Devi, also known by the names
Sharada, Brahmani, Vāni, Vāgdevi, and Savitri, is the last Devi in my Navaratri series for 2022. In Her most popular form, She holds a Veena, Japamālai (rosary beads), a book symbolising knowledge and sometimes, a pen. Sharada Devi is the Goddess of Knowledge and Learning. Part of the Tridevi trio, the other two being Parvati (Malaimagal) and Lakshmi (Alaimagal), Saraswati (Kalaimagal) blesses Her devotees with the power of knowledge and learning of the arts. She is the consort of Lord Brahma, the creator. She wears a white garment and is seated on a white lotus, with Her mount as the elegant swan.
Done using acrylic paint on watercolor sheet. Finally finished this year’s Navaratri series (after so much delay🥲). Hopefully I can finish next year’s Navaratri series within next year’s ‘Navaratri’ itself and not extend it till Margazhi maasam like this one🙂.
