THOOMANI MĀDATHU (First painting of 2022!)
Thiruppavai Pasuram 9:
தூமணி மாடத்து சுற்றும் விளக்கெரிய
தூபம் கமழத் துயிலணை மேல் கண்வளரும்..
‘Thoomani maadathu’ is one of my favourite Pasurams from the Thiruppavai. So is the Raagam Hamir Kalyani.
Then what could possibly stop me from painting Andal imploring her aunt to wake up her cousin, so that they can go together and chant the names of Vaikuntan?
This will be the last one of my this year’s Thiruppavai Series (thought of doing 9, then 6, and now stopping with 3 due to lack of time
) Will be doing the remaining Pasurams every Margazhi!
